These recommendations were prepared by business leaders of the Americas, who met during the V OAS Private Sector Forum held in Medellin, Colombia, on May 29-30, 2008.

Organization of American States Private Sector Forum Working Group on the Business Climate: The Role of Transparency and the Rule of Law for Investment. RECOMMENDATIONS

Its objective is to explore and assess public-private sector initiatives and strategies to promote job creation, with a view to assisting member countries deliver the benefits of democracy.

 Over 100 senior business leaders from the Hemisphere gathered at the  forum to provide recommendations in the following three areas:  improving competitiveness and productivity via education and technology; promoting good governance and transparency; and innovative strategies for job creation.
